Sharks Look For 1st Overall In NHL

Thursday, 11.05.2009 / 2:32 PM / News By San Jose Sharks Staff The Sharks are having to make another injury adjustment to their lineup as Rob Blake will miss the Detroit contest with an upper body injury and Derek Joslin has been called up for action. Blake has been placed on the injured reserve list after having to leave the Columbus game on Wednesday night.

Joslin has played in two games for San Jose this year and is a +2. During his 10 games with Worcester, the Richmond Hill, Ontario product has registered five assists and ranks second among Worcester defensemen in scoring.

The contest in Detroit will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be available on CSN California, 98.5 KFOX and sjsharks.com. With a victory, the Sharks could move into first place overall in the NHL standings.

Yeah but how serious is his injury? I saw him go down and it didnt look too terrible. I know NFL IR but how long is NHL IR? When can he be back? If its a long time will they move the C to someone else in the mean time?

I heard here on Double-X 1090 sports update (San Diego) that Blake has a bruised shoulder. What they didn't say was the extent of the injury, but when your shoulder is bruised it really does effect one's upward mobility, including being able to shoot the puck...I hope he isn't out too long, Blake is needed and to not have him tonights hurts...

This is part of Dougies IR shuffle to fix all the Salary cap problems this season.
you let guys who are getting paid 2 mil rest... while bringing up the 1 mil players and seeing what they can do while we are early in the season.
By the end of the season we might actually be able to fit 23 players on the roster....

I would not put that C on anyone else. it's bad luck.

They said its about a week long injury. His fall or "hit" or whatever was weak sauce. Maybe Blake is just too old haha.

Give the C to Joe and the A to Marleau.

he's got pins in his shoulder and just fell kinda weird on it. It was pretty weak though.

I haven't seen any games since he's been recalled.

He's been a little underwhelming in Worcester.

I honestly didn't even notice he was on the ice. Kind of like Clowe this year.
