I was hoping to get to my first Sharks game against the Wings on the 9th. It's been bad since they took away hockey in our city. Does anyone have any tips for tickets or anything? I'm used to $20 tickets not $200 tickets.

In the GDT, there's a link to find tickets via StubHub. Also, I'd say another good method would be to find on Craigslist. I went to the Philly game last week and found tickets same day(4pm) for lower bowl at STH Face Value(67.00) per ticket.

I wasn't saying I wanted $20 tix for the Sharks. I'm looking for $50-80 range and just trying to find seats that are good without knowing first hand what the Tank is like. Thats where you all come in! What are some good seats and what are some sections to stay away from?

well honestly the best seats in the house are at the very top because you dont have to deal with people sitting behind you.. but its a pain the ass walking up all those stairs when your drunk..
but anywhere at the top or bottom second level.. the lower level are nice but you get a better view sitting in the second level..
last year i payed 66 per ticket to sit at the very last row on the second level.. just look on craigslist, ebay, optionit, stubhub(make sure you order a week or so early so you dont get stuck paying the last minute processing fee which is like 20 bucks a ticket.. and make sure you use the stubhub link on the site because chompboard gets a percentage of the sale)..
Look for row 24 in any 1xx section. You can't go wrong with those, you'll be at the top of the lower bowl and I've NEVER had a problem with or without viewing.

Absolutley correct. I love sitting on the Upper Level and it's fun actually making the walk up the stairs when you are drunk. View is much better sitting on top. There is really no bad seat to sit in the house. You will enjoy it at the Tank. What game are thinking about going to?
Thinkin about going to the Wings game on 1/9/10. We miss having hockey here. Used to be season ticket holders with glass seats to our local CHL team. I'll be going with a Wings fan. Hopefully everyone will be nice to her, she'll be escorted by me in my Marleau jersey

She might get a few boos here and there from Sharks fans, but it should all be in good fun. If it ever gets bad just find the nearest usher and let him/her know whats going on, we have no tolerance for that kind of stuff (i'm an usher at the arena, we welcome all fans of any team to come watch a game). The only Wings fans I've seen get brutally harassed are the ones that taunt and flip off the Sharks fans around them.

yep, unless you sit behind the players bench in row 2-3. it sucks when they're all standing up. i sat behind the sharks bench and found myself watching the game on the jumbotron all night but got some great pics of players' jerseys.
if you're going to sit in the lower bowl, sit somewhere in rows 10+ so you can see over the glass.
In our minor league hockey games we had season tickets about four rows up behind the home team bench. so amazing...LOVED those seats. I got ssssooooo many pucks over the years from them. But I'm lookin now for some tickets. thanks EVERYONE for the recommendations
